Jennifer Connelly has entered talks for Winter’s Tale.

The actress is in line to reunite with A Beautiful Mind screenwriter Akiva Goldsman and the film’s star Russell Crowe on the project, reports Deadline.

The film centers around a dying young woman (Jessica Brown Findlay) who falls in love with a thief (Colin Farrell) when he breaks into her Manhattan home.

Connelly will play the woman’s mother in the Warner Bros movie based on the novel by Mark Helprin.

William Hurt, Will Smith, Matt Bomer, Lucy Griffiths and Eva Marie Saint will also star in the film.

Connelly is currently shooting Noah, also alongside Crowe.

Jennifer Connelly’s career got a massive shot in the arm (and an Oscar) with A Beautiful Mind, which was written by Akiva Goldsman. Now Deadline reports Connelly may reteam with Goldsman for his directorial debut, Winter’s Tale.

The movie has been in development for a couple of years, but it’s now moving towards production, with Colin Farrell and Jessica Brown Findlay set to star. Based on the novel by Mark Helprin, the story is set in both the present day and the late 19th century, and centres on a thief (Farrell) who falls in love with the Irish heiress (Jessica Brown Findlay) he just robbed, right before she dies. He later learns that he possesses the gift of reincarnation, and becomes determined to save her life.

Assuming she signs on, Connelly would play the role of the main woman’s mother. The rest of the cast includes William Hurt, Will Smith, Matt Bomer, Lucy Griffiths and Eva Marie Saint.

Connelly is currently working on Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, but may move onto Winter’s Tale after that.

A Beautiful Mind was an important film in the career of Akiva Goldsman. While the writer/producer has made a number of big hits throughout his career, the script he wrote for Ron Howard’s 2001 drama ended up winning him the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, a monumental achievement for anyone in Hollywood. As Goldsman is now getting set to make his directorial debut with an adaptation of the book Winter’s Tale, it’s no surprise that he’s interested in borrowing pieces from A Beautiful Mind to ensure success. He has already gotten Russell Crowe to sign on the dotted line and now the winner of the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her part in the picture is close to putting her signature on a contract as well.

Deadline has learned that Jennifer Connelly is now in talks for a part in Winter’s Tale. Based on the novel by Mark Helprin, which goes back and forth between 19th century and present day New York, the fantasy tale tells the story of a young woman named Beverly Penn who falls in love with Peter Lake, an Irish burgler who is trying to rob her house. Colin Farrell has always signed on for the role of Peter while Jessica Brown Findlay, best known for her work as Lady Sybil Branson on the Emmy-winning series “Downton Abbey”, will be playing Beverly. Should she sign on, Connelly would play the role of Beverly’s mother. The rest of the cast includes William Hurt, Will Smith, Matt Bomer, Lucy Griffiths and Eva Marie Saint.

Connelly is currently in production on Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, which coincidentally also stars Crowe.

In tomorrow’s issue of French people magazine Gala, actress Jennifer Connelly reveals her olfactive preferences in a beauty interview.

Is she a perfume person? Not really. Hmm, actually no, not at all. Like Bobbi Brown, she says that she is more of a smell-oriented person…

This means usually for those who belong to the smells tribe that you do not insist on wearing fancy perfumes. In fact, you avoid them, preferring aromas that remind you of a more natural environment and are not “layered”.

For some reason, this preference seems to be a characteristic orientation of North-American culture, where it is expressed from time to time.

“Not at all (a fan of perfumes), I am in fact very sensitive to smells and cannot stand the superposition of scents. In general, the aromas of the creams I use are enough for me.” (Our translation)

On the other hand, she makes more effort to burn well-selected scented candles for her home.

Connelly was welcoming the interviewer at her place with Abd El Kader by Cire Trudon, declaring that she loves its notes of mint and lemon. Other favorites for her are the tea-scented candles from tea compagny Mariage Frères.

She is currently starting out as the global spokesperson for Shiseido Future Solution LX after having been their Asia spokesperson. She first did a campaign for Shiseido back in the 1980s.

Quite a feat. The star just signed as Shiseido’s new spokeswoman, and to celebrate, we got her take on beauty — her favorite products, best red-carpet looks, and the history of her signature bold brows.

Let’s talk brows. We love yours. “Thank you! Years ago — in my early 20s — I never did anything. I was frightened by my Aunt Rachel. She told me to never tweeze my brows and always lamented that she overtweezed and had to pencil hers in. Makeup artists always tried to convince me to let them shape them, but I stuck to my guns. Then during A Beautiful Mind — it was a very specific period look—the makeup artist made a very convincing argument that I should have defined brows, so she tweezed them. They were still heavy but very manicured. Since then, I maintain them myself by plucking a few stray hairs. I don’t let anyone else tweeze them. I think of them like hair — once you do too many processes, the hair doesn’t grow back the same. Strong brows is what I have and I embrace them.”

What has been your favorite red-carpet look? “Do I have to pick one? That’s hard! I like different things for different reasons — some are more avant-garde, others are pretty and classic. Nicolas [Ghesquiere] for Balenciaga has designed some great dresses that I’ve really loved. Fashion Group International sent one to Nicolas — it was very graphic and asymmetrical with a white vest piece, and I wore my hair and makeup clean and natural. I loved my first Met Ball dress in 2005 — it was sort of a feathered affair. I once wore a Givenchy dress in Japan, and we did elaborate hair that was all twisted. And I loved this Viktor and Rolf red dress — it was simple and relatable. All of my favorites are bold in one way or another.”

Do you consider your hair and makeup when deciding on a dress to wear to an event? “I usually start with the dress. Then deciding on the hair and makeup is a collaborative process. I’ll see something that I find inspiring, like a lip color from a runway collection, for example, and I’ll speak with hair and makeup. I think hair and makeup can really complement or fight a dress, so I’d say that I’m definitely not passive when it comes to my opinion. I most often have thoughts, and we work it out together.”

What’s the craziest beauty change you’ve made for a role? “Dying my hair blonde for Virginia — Marie Robinson did it and it took about a week to complete the transformation. I didn’t realize it’d be such a long process. I actually really liked it. It felt like the character. I thought about keeping it but because my hair’s so dark, it would have been impractical and too much to maintain. But I did enjoy it — I found the color addictive. As a blonde, I kept getting impulses to make it lighter. I’d be sitting in the makeup bus talking to Morgan, my hairdresser, and be like, ‘Let’s make it a little lighter around my face.’ It was dangerous.”

What are your most beloved beauty products? “Time is limited, so if I’m going to devote a certain amount of time to my appearance, I prioritize by enduring benefits. So if I have 40 minutes, I’d rather go for a 20 minute jog and then take care of my skin, which is a really good investment of time. Then whatever time I have left over, I’ll put on lip color and concealer and throw my hair in a ponytail. It’s a trade-off. I use Shiseido Future Solution LX skin care. I love Rosebud Salve lip balm, and I like different lip products on different days. I like really pigmented lipstick and sheer gloss, and sometimes I like just a lip pencil and lip balm. I love [Shiseido] Lacquer Rouge because it’s a cross between lipstick and gloss. I like it in Drama, a deep red, and I like Nymph because it’s like my natural lip color but a little stronger.”

What’s the best beauty advice you’ve ever received? “It’s not original, but wear sunscreen. It’s really true. I like the Shiseido Urban Environment one because it’s sheer and lightweight.”

The story of the film follows the biblical tale of a man who is given the mission to build a giant vessel that can house two of every animal from the earth to save them from a giant flood that will wipe all life off the earth for a new beginning.

The movie stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Saoirse Ronan, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Durand and Mark Margolis.

Noah is scheduled for a March 28, 2014 release.

Darren Aronofsky is one of those directors who manages to get the most out of any project he’s ever done, and his upcoming film Noah will be no exception. Will this biblical tale stick to the source material? Or will Aronofsky put his own spin on it?

Some minor plot details were revealed today regarding the tale of Noah and his quest to save one of every species by shoving them all onto a giant Ark before the Great Flood hits the Earth. The movie stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman and Emma Watson and is set for a March 28th, 2014 release.

The Film Stage is reporting that this interpretation of Noah will showcase him as being more of a warrior than how he’s portrayed in the Bible. According to the site, Noah is “a fighter and also a healer” whose homeland is “barren and hostile, in the grip of severe drought. A world marked by violence and barbarism, delivered to the savagery of the clans that draw their reason to survive from war and cruelty.”

So now we know why Crowe was cast. If a fight’s gonna go down, that’s the dude you want wielding your weapon of warrior justice. The story will apparently focus more on Noah’s homeland than it will on the flood itself. Also on hand will be The Watchers, who are “eleven-foot-tall fallen angels with six arms and no wings.”

Whatever.

Aronofsky tweeted a photo from the set, showing off the gigantic ark being built for the film.

Director Darren Aronofsky has been planning on making a Noah’s Ark feature for years.

Now, the man who gave us The Wrestler and Black Swan can see the ark being built right before his eyes.

This shot, which Aronofsky tweeted from the set of his upcoming Noah, shows the ark itself in the construction process.

The movie features Russell Crowe as Noah, along with Oscar winners Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Hopkins.

Darren Aronofsky finds his Cain & Abel for “Noah”

With production gearing up on Darren Aronofsky’s massive Noah, he continues to pad out his already impressive cast with more Biblical characters to help

tell the tale of the man who built the Ark. Now, two famous siblings from Genesis will be making an appearance.

The director has cast the largely unknown Icelandic actors Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (“Reykjavik-Rotterdam”) and Arnar Dan as Cain and Abel respectively in the film. In case

you’re not up on your Old Testament, Cain and Abel were the sons of Adam and Eve, with Cain killing his brother after he grew jealous when God took Abel’s offerings instead of

his own. He was given a mark, warning others of God’s vengeance that awaited those who commited murder, and he was forced to wander the Earth in punishment. The curious thing is

that the events of Cain and Abel take place well before Noah was even born, so we’re not sure how this factors in. Flashbacks maybe? With Dakota Goyo cast as the younger Noah,

that would seem to be the case. Either way, Jóhannesson and Dan aren’t expected to have many lines, so we’d guess their appearance will be brief anyway.

The pair join Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Durand, Martin Csokas and Goyo in the movie that

will set sail on March 28, 2014.

Mark Margolis joins Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah”

Mark Margolis has joined the cast of Darren Aronofsky’s Noah opposite Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Saoirse Ronan, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, Emma

Watson, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins and Kevin Durand.

Noah is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from

the coming flood.

Margolis, who recently received an Emmy Nomination for his role as Hector “Tio” Salamanca on AMC’s Breaking Bad, has the distinction of having worked on all of Darren

Aronofsky’s films, including Pi, Requiem For A Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler and Black Swan.

Noah is currently in production in Iceland, planning for a March 28, 2014 release.

Sir Anthony Hopkins to star as Methusaleh in biblical film epic “Noah”

He’s a little young for the role at 74 but Welsh movie legend Sir Anthony Hopkins is to play Methusaleh.

Hopkins has signed on to play the long lived patriarch (he is said to have died aged 969) in Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic Noah.

He will join a star studded cast including Russell Crowe as the ark builder, Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly as Noah’s wife Naameh, Emma Watson as Lla, a young woman who forms a

bond with Noah’s son and Ray Winstone as the “nemesis” of Noah.

Aronofsky was clearly thrilled Port Talbot born Silence Of The Lambs star Hopkins had agreed to join the cast, announcing the news on his Twitter page this week.

The highly rated director wrote: “I’m honoured to be working with the great Sir Anthony Hopkins.

“We just added him to the stellar cast of #Noah; #methuselahlives.” Methuselah, Noah’s grandfather, is described by Biblical scholars as the oldest-known individual in the

history of the Hebrew Bible.

His passing at almost 1,000 years old occurs seven days before the beginning of Great Flood, and it was written that God delayed the flood by seven days to provide a fitting

mourning period.

One of the Hebrew patriarchs, he is mentioned in Genesis 5.

The movie started filming in August.

The movie version of Noah which is to be filmed in Iceland and New York, is said to be a close “but darker” adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark.

In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood.

The screenplay was written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by screenwriter John Logan.

The film is due for release at around Easter 2014.

Douglas Booth and Logan Lerman have joined the cast of Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, Deadline reports. They’ll appear opposite Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Saoirse Ronan in the Paramount Pictures film.

Marton Csokas joins the cast of “Noah”

Marton Csokas (who was previously seen in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) has officially joined the cast of Darren Aronofsky’s Noah

With production beginning this week, Marton Csokas joins the cast of Noah as a late addition. He is said to have a supporting role. Marton joins the recently announced Dakota Goyo, Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Ray Winstone and Sir Anthony Hopkins.

This highly anticipated epic biblical story arrives in theaters on March 28, 2014.

Kevin Durand in talks for “Noah” cast

Thesp to co-star with Russell Crowe in pic

The 6’6 Kevin Durand is putting his size to good use as he is in talks to play a watcher in Paramount and New Regency’s Noah starring Russell Crowe.
Pic also stars Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth with Darren Aronofsky directing.

In Aronofsky’s take on the Biblical tale, Noah is a man who loves Earth and all of its animal inhabitants, but has become disillusioned with the way humans have treated their planet. Durand plays one of the giants who helps Noah and his family.

Pic is scheduled to bow March 28, 2014. Paramount had no comment on the casting.

Durand has cut his teeth over the years in smaller, character driven roles but as of late has come into his own and stayed very busy.

In recent weeks, Durand has lined up roles in the West Memphis 3 pic Devil’s Knot and the Screen Gems pic The Mortal Instruments. Durand also still has a handful of films set to come out this year with David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis and Screen Gems Resident Evil: Retribution set to bow this fall.
